Bowen Lu

Senior Data Scientist

Bowen Lu applies data science, financial analysis, and artificial intelligence to the business questions facing law firms. At Oxford Strategic Legal Advisors, he works with large sets of firm and attorney data to identify patterns, compare performance, and support decisions involving growth, profitability, compensation, benchmarking, and operational performance.

His work helps law firm leaders better understand the relationships between financial results, attorney activity, firm structure, and individual performance. Bowen develops analytical models that turn complex datasets into clearer comparisons and decision-making tools, allowing firms to evaluate performance at both the individual and organizational level.

Bowen has also developed attorney compensation models that assess factors including revenue origination, billable hours, collaboration, and other performance indicators. These tools help firms examine how compensation outcomes align with contribution, firm economics, and broader strategic objectives.

In addition to his financial and performance analysis, Bowen develops AI-enabled tools that support Oxford’s advisory and due diligence work. His work includes GPT-based systems for documentation, research, and analytical processes that reduce repetitive work, improve consistency, and give advisory teams faster access to relevant information during client engagements.

Before joining Oxford, Bowen worked in the pharmaceutical sector, where he developed data tools supporting clinical operations, cost analysis, and reporting. His experience included building dashboards and analytical models designed to make complex operational information more accessible and useful to decision-makers.

Bowen holds a Master of Science in Business Intelligence and Analytics from Stevens Institute of Technology and a degree in Industrial Engineering from Tianjin University. At Oxford, he brings that technical and analytical background to the financial, operational, and performance challenges facing law firms.
