Scott Carter
Project Consultant
Scott Carter brings more than 35 years of experience in law firm management, consulting, executive recruiting, and financial management to his work with law firm leaders. A Certified Public Accountant, Scott spent more than 20 years in internal law firm management, giving him firsthand knowledge of the financial, operational, organizational, and talent challenges firms face as they grow and evolve.
Throughout his career, Scott has worked closely with firm leadership on management, personnel, and business issues, giving him a practical understanding of how strategic decisions affect both firm performance and the people responsible for carrying them out. His experience inside law firms allows him to approach client matters from the perspective of someone who has managed many of the same issues directly rather than solely as an outside advisor.
Scott also brings extensive experience in executive recruiting and talent acquisition. He understands the considerations that drive both firms and individual professionals during a search, including organizational needs, leadership fit, career objectives, compensation, and the factors that influence whether a placement will succeed over the long term.
At Oxford Strategic Legal Advisors, Scott draws on that combination of law firm management, financial experience, and recruiting knowledge to support clients facing questions involving talent, leadership, organizational structure, and growth. His background as a CPA adds another layer to that perspective, particularly when evaluating the financial and operational implications of management and personnel decisions.
Across his career, Scott has developed a detailed understanding of how law firms operate from the inside, how leadership teams make business and personnel decisions, and how financial discipline and the right talent can support a firm’s broader strategic objectives.
